No Fireworks for New Years Eve

For the first time in 30 years, the V&A Waterfront will not be hosting the annual firework display.

Instead there will be a seven-day Tribute of Light and Hope, representing hope, change, remembrance, life, courage, loss, gain, Ubuntu and solidarity.tribute of light.

This year, for our traditional festive season celebration, we are pausing to reflect on the year gone by with a Tribute of Light and Hope for the New Year,” said David Green, CEO of the V&A Waterfront.

Usually crowds of up to 200 000 emerge on the Waterfront, this year there will be limited access with various restaurants offering New Years packages.
