With spring on our doorstep and winter becoming a distant memory, now is the perfect time to welcome change into our homes. Give “spring cleaning” a whole new meaning, away with the dust cleaning, and in with jazzing up your home with what’s hot and trending on the décor scene for Spring 2016!
What’s hot this season?
Black & White chic décor
With a minimalist feel, black and white décor is big on the scene with it’s timeless look. Less is more, with a mix of interesting textures; furniture pieces; interior décor finishes and lighting, in tones of Black & White.
Modern Bohemian
Bohemian, a style of anything that goes! But, this time it’s a modern Bohemian look, created by using just a few of your favourites. Your collection can be a mix of: An antique furniture piece; crochet fabrics or hammock; a fading rug; mixed colorful patterned cushions and a mix of green succulents. This is not a look that is “perfect”, so relax and have fun creating it!
Fabulous Florals
The bigger the floral, the better! Florals are a massive hit this year. This pattern has been shown through in the latest wallpapers and fabrics. Be brave on your walls; sofa or even your rug; if you are a bit reserved bring it in on your cushions! For a more hip look, have fun mixing different florals.
Metallics
We are seeing loads of metallics in interior finishes this season, such as lighting; bathroom finishes and even on furniture pieces. Your most popular metallics to look out for this Spring are: Bronze and Copper
Marble
Bring the old back with this beautiful classic! A small touch of marble in a home is very stylish. Marble is making its trend back by been implemented in décor accents such as: Occasional tabletops; candleholders; coasters and clocks.
Statement Art
You can tell a lot by a person by what art they have in a home! More people are investing in art, simply because it is a beautiful element to design, and not only does it tell a story, but most importantly, it is personal. Having a statement art piece in a room can have great impact on the overall décor as well add for good conversation.
Foliage & Flowers
This is a winner in any home for any time of the year! I always like to have a mix of greens or flowers in a home. Not only does this add to a fresh and colorful look to a home, but it is also a good for your mental well-being!
PS: No fake greens or flowers allowed – shop fresh only!
Happy Spring fever, going beyond and routing for a new trendy makeover!
