Dunoon Project
Two local ladies are making the world of difference to the needy in Dunoon. Christiana Groenewoud and Councillor Nicky Rheeder started the Dunoon Project, feeding anyone in the area who asks for food.
It doesn’t matter what you look like, where you come from or who you vote for. A hungry person is a hungry person. We will always give if we have.
We are just 2 ladies who saw a need and whose communities have been incredibly giving enabling us to provide food to so many many people every day.
Nicky Rheeder – Councillor
The Dunoon Project has been inundated with requests with over 1300 What’s App messages and SMS’s to sort through to date and increasing daily. Thankfully the project has a few volunteers helping pack food parcels, without whom this would not be possible.

Parcels currently feed a family of 4 for a week with fresh food kindly prepared and donated by Kwikspar, Table View to 50 people every weekday. The demand is increasing and more food parcels and drop-offs are needed. every day. You can assist by donating at Pick n Pay at West Coast Village.
The West Coast Village trolleys have been overwhelming and each time we go collect we need more trips to the car!
Nicky Rheeder – Councillor
The Dunoon Project is also now feeding groups in Phoenix and Joe Slovo as well.
