School Holiday’s are here again. Wondering what to do with the little ones? We’ve compiled 10 cool things to keep them occupied close to home.

Glowing Rooms SA
Here’s something different and fun for the entire family. Glow-in-the-dark, 3D mini golf. Guaranteed to entertain. Cool Runnings
Ride on 1,25km of twisting, curving steel half-pipe on a bob-sled on wheels. It’s fast, it’s fun and it’s safe.
Cool-Runnings is fun and affordable, starting at only R40 per ride and the more you ride, the cheaper it gets. Free entry and free parking. Suitable for ALL ages. Children aged 3 – 7 years need to be accompanied by an adult of 15 years or more. More info here.

Young Engineers Spring Holiday Programme
Held in Sunningdale, the Young Engineers holiday programme is suitable for children ages 6 to 13. Children learn about STEM concepts through the building of motorised Lego models. Ratanga Junction
Sadly the theme park is closing in May 2018 so now is the time to take advantage of the Spring Break Special between 29th September and 8th October.  Kids can enjoy a day of fun for only R95. Get your tickets at the gate or via webtickets. Visit the official website for more info.

The Ice Station
Take the kids ice skating at Grand West, they will not only have loads of fun, they will also get to exercise a little. Various prices for different ages and times. Take your own skates or hire a pair. More info here.

Intaka Island
Get the kids outdoors and into the fresh air with the Intaka Island Holiday Programme! Kids will be treated to a range of activities throughout the day incorporating the many wonders of Intaka with a healthy dose of fun! More info here.

Atlantic Surf Holiday Club
Atlantic Surf is hosting a holiday club for kids between the ages of 5 and 15 from Monday 2 October – Friday 6 October. Kids have loads of fun while learning about surfing, the ocean and the beach culture with friends and other kids of their age. More info here.

Adventure Holiday Club – Science Meets Art
Kids will be making their own solar system, erupting volcanoes, snow and galaxy slime, designing and building structures, painting and loads more. Hosted by Young Imagineers in Table View from Monday 2nd October to Friday 6th October. Ideal for 6 to 13 year olds. R70 per day or R300 for the week. More info here.

Tyger Kidz Expo
Visit Tyger Valley Centre between 5th and 8th October for this exciting family expo showcasing carefully selected local products for Moms and Kidz, from bump to 12 years of age. The little ones will have tons of fun in the activation and play areas with a live local show by Bella & Banjo from The Bop Boppers who will get the kiddies singing and dancing. More info here.

Visit the Ostrich Ranch
For a hands on experience, take a short drive up the N7 and pop in at the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch. Take a fun, educational guided tour of the farm and if you’re brave enough you can even sit on an Ostrich.  Visit Tom Thumb, the official smallest Ostrich in the world, grab a bite to eat and browse through the curio shop.
