As we ease into the first weekend of July here’s a couple of ideas as to how you can spend it. From a new winter market at Killarney to ice-skating and a much-needed beach cleanup, there’s something for everyone.

Let’s make a difference Beach Cleanup
Join Atlantic Surf Co and Surf4Trash on Saturday, 30th June at 8.30 am for the Let’s Make A Difference – Beach Cleanup. This event is part of an initiative to keep our beloved beaches healthy and reduce the negative impact we have on marine life. Various local surf brands will be involved as sponsors with a few surprise prizes from local small businesses for the lucky draw! Buckets provided but take your own too. More info.
GLICE® – Ice Skating at Table Bay Mall
Here’s something new, exciting and a little different to do with the kids, a synthetically manufactured ice rink made with no water will take centre stage at Table Bay Mall. Open from Saturday 30th June to Saturday, 14th July. More info.
Killarney Indoor Winter Market
Head to Killarney for the Winter Market on Sunday 1st July. Situated at the New Pits facility, this very family orientated fun day will boast mouth-watering food, indoor and outdoor kids activities such as pedal kart rides, in a safe environment. Loads of free, secure parking, great craft stalls, clothing, second hand car sales, boot sales and more. Sit back and enjoy live music while sipping on great local craft beer and wine. More info.
Acoustic Meets Pop Meets Rock
Join AXE & Axenmore for their first ever “Acoustic Meets Pop Meets Rock”. An acoustic influenced show featuring a full acoustic set followed by a party pop set and a Classic Rock set. Held at Hillcrest on Sunday, 1st July from 2 pm – 6 pm. Entry R80 and kids 12 and under enter free. Table bookings 021 976 4959 or casual seating available. There’ll be a collection of cat/dog food, old blankets/towels for an animal shelter, so if you are able to donate, please hand in at the door.
Canal Walk’s – Alice in Wonderland
Join Alice as she tumbles down the rabbit hole for an unforgettable adventure through Wonderland. Audiences of all ages will be enchanted by a Garden of Singing Flowers, learn lessons from a Caterpillar, have a mad-cap tea-party with the Mad Hatter and a few of his friends, and many other unforgettable characters like Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, The White Rabbit, The Cheshire Cat and The Queen of Hearts. Market at the Barn
Take a drive out to Durbanville on Sunday, 1st July and visit the indoor Market at the Barn. Over 70 stalls of arts, crafts, clothing and more. Free entry. More info.
