Lots of activity going on around the area this weekend as we welcome in July. Here’s our pick of things to get up to in and around Table View.
Fire & Lights! Century City Night Market
Some of Cape Town’s hottest foodies, artisans and musicians will once again cosy up under the Bedouin tents at Intaka Island, Century City this Friday 30th June between 4pm and 9pm. Multi-talented singer/songwriter Glen Hartmann will be playing an acoustic upbeat mix of cover songs and original material. Enjoy crackling fires, warm scents, draft beer, bubbles, cider, red wine, gluhwein and live music make for a chilled evening out.
DJ Theo at Casa do Mar
Enjoy a laser show and music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s this Saturday 1st July from 7pm at Casa do Mar on the beachfront. R20 at the door from 9pm with a free shooter.
Botanical Walk – Coastal Dune Trail, Blaauwberg Nature Reserve
Join the Coastal Dune Hiking Trail of the Blaauwberg Nature Reserve this Saturday 1st July, starting at 9am and finishing at 1pm. Meet at the Environmental Education cabin at Eerstesteen and walk the entire 4.4km route, stopping to look at flowering plants along the way. Members of the Friends of the BCA walk for free, with visitors having to pay a small fee at the gate. Please bring a hat, water, snacks and a camera.

Independence Day Power Series Round 6
It’s all happening on Saturday 1st July at Killarney Racetrack. It’s mid season and the guys are seriously stepping things up. There will be racing from the fastest cars and bikes, from mid-morning until near sunset. With everything from the latest monster 7-litre V8 sports car to Superbikes that will blow your hair back, motorsport fans can prepare for another Power Series thriller. American Police force vehicles on display, a Dodge Charger as the pace car, displays and parade laps. Lots of kiddies entertainment such as bumper cars, pedal karts and a jungle gym, child minders, stalls and music. R70 per adult, R20 for kids.
Secret Sunset FIRE
Join in celebrating the beauty of the changes of a season with a theme sure to keep you warm: FIRE. Get your body moving and shaking while dancing with wireless headphones on a crisp autumn evening on Blouberg’s Kite Beach, Saturday 1st July between 5 and 6pm. Trammps Reunion 2017

Tribute Show – Deep Purple & Uriah Heep
