Live Music for the Long Weekend

Apart from Easter egg hunts and the Easter bunny, here’s a few live gigs to keep you entertained this long weekend.

Arno Carstens
Start off the Easter weekend on Thursday 29th March with sundowners at the Blue Peter Hotel while you listen to the ever popular Arno Carstens. It’s going to be packed so get there early. Show starts at 7 pm. More info.

Blowfish Sundowner Sessions
Pop into the Blowfish Restaurant on Friday 30th of March where Brandon Lee Hunt – Music Paget will be easing you in to the weekend with a mix of fantastic original tunes, as well as a few classic covers thrown in betweeen 5.30 and 7.30 pm.

Wine down at Durbanville Hills
Durbanville Hills invites guests to Wine Down with them every Friday from 4 pm throughout March and April. Sip on a glass of wine with friends or family while enjoying the sounds of top-class local entertainment as the sun sets over the valley.

Karaoke Weekend
The Swerve Pub and Grill will host Karoake on Friday 30th March and Sunday 1st April. There will also be braai facilities for those who want to throw a few chops on the fire. More info.

Havoc Brews and Blues Fest
Held on Saturday, 31st March at Hillcrest Quarry. Cape Towns hottest Blues acts, like the Gerald Clark Trio together with the Boulevard Blues Band and other class blues acts will be getting their mojo on. Havoc Brew, sponsors of the Brews and Blues Fest will have a variety of Craft Brews on sale. Town vs Country Battle of the Bands
Make your way to The Town and Country Bushpub in Philidelphia on Saturday 31st March and watch 10 bands rock it all out to get thier hands on R10 000 prize money. There will be a variety of food stalls, catering for a wide selection in tastes and preferences, as well as a host of other retail stalls. The fun starts at 10 am. More info.

Kiss the Sky: Rockin’ Reggae
SA’s top reggae band The Rivertones, with their “Tribute to Bob Marley” and Kiss the Sky’s “Greatest Rock Legends”, will give you the best of both worlds in an action packed concert on Sunday, 1st April at Hillcrest Quarry. More info.
