It’s the last official weekend of winter. Here’s what’s on around the area this weekend.

Friday 26th

Century City Night Market
From 4pm to 9pm, the last “winter” night market is this Friday. Enjoy live music from duo ‘Faye & Wren. Think draft beer, craft beer, wine & bubbles, wicked comfort food and the heat of glowing fires. The popular daytime markets start again on the last Sunday of every month from 25th September.

The NOB Burger at Viper Lounge
The ever popular food truck, The NOB will be a Viper Lounge on Marine Circle from 5 – 10pm. Drink specials, live music and a chilled atmosphere on the cards.

Street2Strip at Killarney
Guys will be burning up some tyres at Killarney on Friday evening. If you’re into drag racing, this one’s for you. Karting on Saturday.

SpringFest Under 18 Outdoor Festival
All weekend party at the Ostrich Ranch just up the N7. Under 18s can enjoy multiple live acts, fire dancers, performers, laser shows, funky décor and live DJs all weekend.

Karaoke at Cafe Jantés
Sing your heart out at Karaoke this Friday night at Cafe Jantés at 47 Blaauwberg Road, old Lisa’s Cafe.

Saturday 27th

Hopefield Wildflower Show
Celebrate spring this weekend at the Hopefield Wildflower Show. Food will be available at the venue and local musicians will be performing. Held at the Hopefield Sports Club, Hopefield.

Community Market Day
Hosted at Blouberg International School in Ringwood Drive from 10am till 2pm. Games, pony rides, crafts, live music, potjie competition, rides and other activities for the kids. Many charities will be benefiting from your support.

Schoolyard Market – Elkanah House
Hives of activity going on here on Saturday 27th, there will be a fun outdoor zone to keep the kids happy, R100 for the day. Take along the dogs for a fun competition and very discounted micro chipping plus fresh foods and arts and crafts. 9am till 1pm.

Sunday 28th August

Groote Post Market
Expect artisan foods, arts and crafts, home-ware and décor, and of course, Groote Post’s well-loved wines as well as loads of kiddies’ activities. Exciting new stalls and live music by Francois Haasbroek. Last Sunday of the month throughout Spring and Summer.
