What’s on for the 1st Weekend of 2018?

Transformers Animatronics
This is a unique 2500sqm travelling Transformers exhibition held for the first time in South Africa. Young and old can experience this global phenomenon and get to see their favourite Transformers at real-life size. The exhibition is open until 21st January 2018 at Grand West Casino. More info.
Open Air Movie: Frozen
Held on Friday evening, 5th January just up the road at Meerendal Wine Estate. Doors open at 6pm, movie starts at 8.30 pm. A variety of food, alcohol and hot and cold beverages available on location – cash only. More info.
Westley Engelbrecht Live
Join Westley Engelbrecht live this Friday evening, 5th January at the Viper Lounge on Marine Circle. Burgers, bikes and beers on the menu. No entry fee.
Battle of Blaauwberg Anniversary Festival
Held on Saturday, 6th January from 7 am to 12 pm. The Friends of BCA and its partners bring you an important and exciting commemorative event to commemorate the Battle of Blaauwberg of 1806. The Festival, held on Saturday 6th January 2018, will include many activities to participate including fun walks, a 10 km trial run and a guided Battle of Blaauwberg walk. More info.
Blue Peter Sundowner Sessions
Live music all weekend on the lower deck of The Blue Peter Hotel with Classic Revival, New Idea and Rock Solid playing your favourite tunes over the weekend, weather permitting. Call 021 554 1956 to confirm.
Major Attention Rocks Doodles
Cape Town’s popular rocking duo will be playing classic tunes through the ages at Doodles Beachfront on Sunday, 7th January between 6 and 10 pm. Perfect way to end off the weekend.
