School’s Out for Summer Holidays

December holidays are here, 4 weeks of summer fun for the kids to enjoy. Don’t let them drive you round the bend. Here’s a few suggestions to keep them entertained.

Intaka Island Holiday Programme
Get the kids outdoors and into the fresh air with the Intaka Island December Holiday Programme. Kids will engage in various activities like learning about Intaka Island’s insects and animals, enjoying a treasure hunt, pond dipping and lots more. Held between 12th & 15th December. Blaauwberg Nature Reserve Activity Programme
Aimed at children between 8 and 14 years old, the programme will run daily from 9:00 until 12:00 from 12th to 15th December 2016 at Eerstesteen Resort and Melkbosstrand. Activities include sandy shore olympics, explore the rocky shores, beach games and super sea heroes. Space is limited and you need to book by 7th December to secure a spot.  Call 021 444 0315.

Summer Holiday Club – Learn to Surf
The Atlantic surf school has 21 years of experience of teaching kids, ladies, men and dogs of all ages to learn to surf in a fun and safe way.  They have various sessions during December and January. Click here for more information.

Local Library Fun
Drop the kids at the Bloubergstrand Library on Thursday 8th December for a craft session and Tuesday 13th December for games. Milnerton Library has a host of fun activities throughout December as well including making angel decorations, a snow man paper chain and a Santa puppet. Canal Walk’s Ice Adventure
Fun for the whole family to enjoy. See animals of the Ice Age and take a thrilling ride down ice slides. Experience what the Ice Age felt like in a sub-zero ice chamber. Be sure not to miss this exciting adventure between 2nd December and 8th January from 10am until 10pm. More information here.

Ratanga Junction
Always a favourite and with over 25 attractions, the kids are sure to be entertained for hours on end. Ratanga is open from 2nd December until 10th January 2017. Tickets from R89.50 for a full adventurer rider. Click here for more information.

Head to Artscape
Peter Pan, Snow White and Annie are all fabulous shows to take the kids to over the December holidays. Visit the Artscape website for more information.

Lunch at Eden on the Bay
Pop in for lunch at Moyo, Captains Kitchen or the newly opened Primi down at Eden. All three restaurants have great play areas for kids so you can relax, enjoy your meal while the kids have fun.
