Random Breath Tests Enforced
Traffic officials are putting their foot down and catching motorists unaware with random breath testing around Table View and the Western Cape. It’s no joke!
Several arrests were made this morning, Friday 14th July on Otto du Plessis Drive in Bloubergstrand. A motorist was arrested around 5am for driving nearly five times over the legal limit and another driver was arrested for being three times over the legal limit.
“As random breath testing is rolled out in the coming months‚ we believe that it will have a positive impact on behaviour on our roads‚ and that more and more people will make the life-saving decision not to drink and drive.” – Transport MEC, Donald Grant

“Testing teams will set up checkpoints at several locations during a shift and will operate day and night.”
Don’t drink and drive, it’s just not worth it. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.
