Power Series Round 3
Race day at the home of motorsport in the Western Cape provides fun and entertainment for the whole family, with pedal karts, jungle gyms and more for petrolheads-in-training, marshalled by trained minders, at the Clubhouse Kiddies Korner. Parents of toddlers are welcomed to the new nursery, where you’ll find fridges to keep juice boxes cold, nappy-changing and breastfeeding facilities, as well as toilets and wash-up facilities for running repairs.
Headlining the third round of the Power Series sponsored by Wingfield Motors at Killarney International Raceway on Saturday 13 April will be two astonishingly successful regional series, featuring the best of local talent in action-packed racing.
The Mikes Place Clubmans championship and the Burly Pro GTi Challenge each regularly attract more than 30 entries. With almost twice as many cars on the grid as a Formula One race, the result is incredibly close door-handle-bashing clashes all the way down the field in every race.
They’ll be supported by the screaming 280km/h machines of the RST Suzuki South Superbikes, the RST Trac Mac Clubmans (also known for big fields and robust racing action), and the RST Trac Mac Powersports, where the racing is so close that photo finishes are often required to figure out who won!

Add to that the thundering V8s of the Masters, the one-make Makita Supercars, the specialist sports-racers cars of the Pirelli Sports and GT Cars (in many peoples’ eyes the most elegant competition vehicles ever built), the Shatterfix Fine Cars and Millstock Classic Cars the and Grand Prix mini-me’s of the Formula Libre classes, and you have a recipe for non-stop action from the first warm-up at 8:00am to the last race at about 5:30pm.
The Trackside Pub & Grill Clubhousewill be open all day and late into the evening, for fine food and ice-cold beverages; for a covered balcony offering stunning views along the Porsche Club straight and into the old pits as well as designer coffee, snacks and frosties, try the New Pits Lounge.
The Clubhouse Kiddies Korner is now also available for children’s parties – contact the Western Province Motor Club on (021 5578-1639) for details.
