MyCiTi card vending machines

MyCiTi is moving with leaps and bounds, first with free WiFi and now with card vending machines.

Last week the City of Cape Town’s transport authority installed two card vending machines at Century City and Adderley Street. Here you can buy a myconnect card, upload money or mover points to your myconnect card or purchase other MyCiTi products.

The CVMs operate in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa and are said to be similar to the machines used to pay for parking at the airport. CVMs accept cash or bankcards and are able to provide change in coins.

The two active CMVs are being tested with one using 3G and the other fibre optic. Another 8 machines are expected to be rolled out to various stations across Cape Town in the near future.
