Intense Cold Front to hit Cape Town

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of an intense cold front to make landfall in the Western Cape by Wednesday.

Rainfall is expected from Tuesday ahead of the coldfront with continuous rain through to Thursday with the bulk of the rainfall expected on Wednesday.

Strong to gale force winds are predicted of between 50 and 70 km’s per hour along the western coastline causing rough and high seas with waves reaching up to 6 m.

Flooding, mudslides and rockfalls may occur in certain coastal areas. Cold daytime temperatures are expected becoming very cold on Thursday and Friday.

As many will be keen to see the snow the SAWS has advised not to venture out during the COVID-19 lockdown regulations.

Stay warm and dry and #staysafe
