Blouberg Melkbos Cycle Route Open

The 5.85 km cycle route between Bloubergstrand and Melkbos is now open. The cycle lane is 3m wide and barriered by a kerb similar to the one used for the MyCiti with bidirectional cycle traffic accommodated.

Running along the ocean, this stretch between Blouberg and Melkbos has always been a popular one and it is hoped that more cyclists will use the new safer cycle lane.

Now you can safely cycle to Melkbos, enjoy a meal on the beachfront and cycle back. Just remember to take the South Easter into account on your way back during the windy months.
