Rock Your Mojo

Rock Your Mojo Festival
14 Awesome bands are set to ‘Rock Your Mojo’ at Hillcrest Quarry on Heritage Day. 7 Hours of Mojo Music under a huge marquee with 20 000 watts. Bands will be playing original music as well as covering classic songs by BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani, Deep Purple, John Lee Hooker, Nirvana, Muddy Waters and more. Heritage Day Market
Held at Willowbridge Centre in Tyger Valley between 9am and 3pm. Set to be a perfect day out with the family! Join in a cultural celebration of the best local food, produce and design with Isabella Niehaus. Live entertainment and outdoor kids play area. More info here.

Century City Market

Century City Natural Goods Market
Celebrate SA Heritage on Sunday 24 September at the Century City Natural Goods Market. Live music, educational snake and reptile show at 10.30am. Free train rides and a jumping castle. Plus lots of arts, crafts, amazing food and drinks to satisfy the soul. More info here.

Spit Braai and Karaoke
Casa do Mar on Porterfield Road will be firing up the spit braai from 3pm on Heritage Day and karaoke from 5pm. R129 per person. Bookings filling up fast.  More info here.

Vegan Braai Heritage Day

Vegan Heritage Day Braai
Celebrate Heritage Day with a good ol’ braai, the vegan way. Make your way to the Mowbray Bowls Club from 1pm to 4pm to feast on delicious plant-based goodness, braai pies, veg kebabs, braai broodjies, corn on the cob and lots more.  It’s a bring and share, so pop your favourite (vegan) sausages, salads and sides in a basket and remember to take your own cutlery!  More info here.

Groote Post Country Market
Take a drive up the West Coast and visit the Groote Post Country Market. The kids will be kept busy with a wide variety of kiddies’ activities – tractor rides, face-painting, guided horse rides and the popular playground. Take the dogs too, just make sure they are on a leash.

MyDunoon Heritage Celebration
Head down to the Joshua Generation Church on 24th September between 9am and 12pm and join in the Heritage Day festivities with traditional foods on sale, traditional outfits on show and local entertainment. More info here.

Deluxe Carvery at Dales Black Angus
Treat yourself to a feast and chow down at the Deluxe Carvery at Dales Black Angus Grill this Heritage Day. You won’t be disappointed with the fabulous variety of starters, mains and desserts. R165 per person. Probably wise to book at this is a popular venue.

San Bushmen

Heritage Day at !Khwa ttu
The San invites you to celebrate Heritage Day with them at !Khwa ttu just up the R27. Traditional dancing, singing, tracking, tractor rides and story telling around the fire. Braai & bar and food available all day. More info here.
