Kitesurfing Armada 29 – 31 Jan
The last weekend in January will see our beachfront packed with kitesurfers as they participate in the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada. Professional and amateur kitesurfers from all over the globe will come together in an attempt to bring the Guinness World Record to South Africa for the largest parade of kitesurfers. The event will take place between Dolphin Beach and Doodles.
With Table Mountain as a backdrop, and our beaches being world renowned for kitesurfing, this should be an easy enough record to break. Let’s hope hundreds of enthusiastic kitesurfers get their kit on and put Table View beaches in the Guinness Book of World Records. Spain currently hold the record with 352 participants.
Launched in the UK in 2013, the first Virgin Kitesurfing Armada was lead off by Sir Richard Branson. Funds raised from the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada are used to support various local and international charities. This event has previously raised over £150,000 for charity.
