Fireworks for New Year

While the search for a suitable venue for fireworks continues, the beachfront site used for Guy Fawkes will be used for New Year’s. Killarney Race Track was thought to be an option but has been deemed unsafe for fireworks.

Various roads marked below will be closed from 2pm on Saturday 31 December 2016 until the early hours of 1 January 2017. Parking lots from Marine Circle to Dolphin Beach will also be closed.

Only official and pre-arranged vehicles will be allowed to enter the cordoned off areas. All safety precautions will be taken with fire, law enforcement, metro and medical teams on site, amongst others.
