Remember, remember the 5th of November
Another 4 sites have been added this year to the already existing 8 approved sites for Guy Fawkes. The reason for this is to discourage the temptation to discharge fireworks in unsupervised areas. Law enforcement, Metro Police and fire inspectors will be patrolling all designated areas and the City urges the public to use fireworks responsibly.
It is illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to discharge a firework and the illegal sale or use of fireworks should be reported to the Metro Police Call Centre on 0860-POLICE 765 423.
Unite Against Fireworks, a local online initiative is calling all locals who are against fireworks to meet on Guy Fawkes on 5th November and join in a peaceful human chain at the junction of Marine Drive and Blaauwberg Road. Visit the Facebook page for more information.
