On 7 June 2016 the City advertised its process for the new IDP for 2017 – 2022 for consideration and comment. The process for formulation and drafting of the IDP was approved by Council on 24 August 2016. It’s now time to have your say on the City’s 5 year plan . . .

In terms of section 17 and 29(1)b of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the local community must be consulted on its development needs and priorities and must participate in the drafting of the IDP.

As part of a comprehensive campaign to ensure that all residents of the City understand and are able to participate in the drafting of the IDP a number of interactions will be scheduled. The following public meetings will be held:

7 September 2016 – Milnerton Hall, Jansen Street, Milnerton at 19:00
8 September 2016 – Sidney Kuhn Civic Centre, Burg Street, Macassar at 19:00
13 September 2016 – Lentegeur Civic Centre, Merrydale Road, Mitchells Plain at 19:00
14 September 2016 – Parow Civic Centre, 1 Tallent Street, Parow at 19:00
