Cape Town to buy power from independent producers
Great news for Cape Town! President Cyril Ramaphosa has stated that the government will start the procurement of emergency power! This means that it would let municipalities procure their own power from independent power producers.
“It should be remembered that there is now no limit to installed capacity above 1MW!
The Minerals Council, stated that it was encouraged by Ramaphosa’s commitment to “rapidly and significantly increase generation capacity outside of Eskom”.
