Meet the Combat Pilot who got her wings in Langebaan

Meet Major Mandisa Mfeka . . . In 2008 she joined the #SAAF. In 2010 she attended the Central Flying School in #Langebaan and in 2011 she got her wings. Now, she is South Africa’s first female black Combat Pilot.

Her love for aviation started at the tender age of 5 when her mother and grandmother would take her to watch airshows and displays at a nearby airport in Virginia, KwaZulu-Natal.

Having excelled in her career, Major Mandisa Mfeka is loving every moment of her amazing adventure.

“It is such a dynamic environment and so mentally stimulating, and I love it because I’m growing in my technical expertise and learning more about aerodynamics.”

One quote that Mandisa lives by is, “The sky is the baseline.” Which means, the excellence bar that you pushed yesterday should be your starting point, tomorrow.
