Crime Awareness Tips for the Festive Season

Table View Police has issued the following safety tips to residents and visitors to the Table View area.

Always be alert and aware of your surroundings;

Avoid walking alone in deserted areas;

Make sure your vehicle is securely locked and the alarm activated when parking it;

When stationary at intersections, lock your doors and wind your windows up;

Always be in control of your personal belongings, do not leave it unattended when at a public place, such as the beach, restaurant or pub for example;

Report suspicious activities to the local neighbourhood watch or the police. You may also contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111;

Do not leave any valuable items inside your vehicle;

When at home, make sure that your windows are closed and the doors are locked; activate your home alarm when going out.

When going away during this time of year, make sure your neighbours are aware of this and that they have a contact number, should anything occur at your residence whilst away.

She would like to thank the community for their contribution during the year in reporting suspicious activities; volunteers who render their services at no cost, such as the Parklands- and Table View Neighbourhood Watch members; Victim Support Volunteers; all security companies, non-government institutions, the Table View Community Police Forum and every organisation who contributed towards the safety and security of the Table View precinct’s community.
