New venue for Red Bull King of the Air

Big Bay is no longer the venue for the Red Bull King of the Air. The extreme kitesurfing action will now take place at the popular Kite Beach in Table View which like Big Bay offers perfect kitesurfing conditions.

Red Bull King of the Air will take place on the windiest day between the 27th of January and 11th of February 2018. The top nine riders from last years event plus the top nine from the ranking of the online video competition as well as wildcards will compete for this world-class title.

Defending champion Nick Jacobsen will be eager to hold on to the trophy, but he will have his work cut out for him with past champs Jesse Richman and Kevin Langeree back in the competition this year. They both missed out on 2017 due to injury.

Three South African riders in the mix this year including Durbanite, Joshua Emanuel who recently won the The Red Bull Megaloop Challenge.

The Red Bull King of the Air has generated quite a spectator following over the years and 2018 will be no different.  Expect loads of extreme action battling in the skies over Kite Beach with the world’s finest kitesurfers.
